History of the RVM

The River Valley Minutemen (RVM) was founded in April of 2020. It's first members wished to begin a new standard of civilian volunteer organizations. One that could be perceived as professional and well organized by the volunteers that make up it's structure. Able to respond to their communities when disaster strikes, bring aid to it's people, and defend the liberties and freedoms for everyone.

Originally, the RVM (under a different name) only considered Northern Kentucky as a part of it's AO. Now, the RVM recruits and responds to areas of Northern Kentucky, Southeast Indiana and Southwest Ohio (generally speaking, the Cincinnati Tristate) due to it's overall connection, culture and road infrastructure.

Through the years, the RVM has provided training to dozens of individuals and their families in a wide array of not only operational related tasks, but medical, preparedness, homesteading and more. The RVM has self-invested in a wide array of Medical, Support and Communications equipment that may aid us in the event of a response. In addition, the RVM has custom built a response trailer that can be utilized for rapid disaster deployment.

Prior Operations

Operation Helpful Neighbor - October 2024

Operation helpful neighbor aimed to help provide aid and resources to those affected by Hurricane Helene. During this time, the RVM collected +10,000lbs of donated supplies at three locations in Northern Kentucky, as well as collected $9,486.00 in funds. In addition, the RVM sent a 24 member detachment made of 16 RVM volunteers and 8 volunteers from our regional partners with off road vehicles, a boat and our response trailer to East Tennessee. Due to factors out of our control, we were not able to employ our volunteers and equipment to the extent we saw satisfactory or sufficient.
